Let’s chat about trust today. You see, it’s a bit like a good cup of tea. It needs to be warm and comforting and should never let you down (especially when the weather’s as unpredictable as a Calgary day) 

Just as your day seems brighter after that first sip, a dash of trust can transform your crowdfunding journey, turning potential backers into committed supporters. And, like brewing your tea to perfection, building trust is best done in advance.

By starting in the planning phase – say, a warm August afternoon – you’re giving yourself ample time to lay the foundation of a trustworthy campaign. Think about it. Would you rather invest in a last-minute scramble or a well-prepared project? That’s a rhetorical question, of course!

Your potential backers aren’t MI5 or CSIS agents; they shouldn’t have to decode vague messages or play detective to understand your project. Regular, clear updates on your progress and plans are like breadcrumbs on a trail – they keep people connected to your journey.

Demonstrate that you’re not just passionate but also competent. Share relevant qualifications, experiences, or testimonials. Show them that you’ve got the skills and experience to pull this off.

Create a sense of belonging. Build a community around your project, involving people in the process and valuing their input. Shared ownership inspires trust like nothing else.
